China Enhances Support and Services for Private Businesses

In a concerted effort to foster the growth of the private sector, China is intensifying its policy support and enhancing service delivery, according to a senior official from the country’s leading economic planning body, speaking at the China Economic Roundtable hosted by Xinhua News Agency.

Wei Dong, who heads the bureau for private economy development at the National Development and Reform Commission, revealed that China is set to establish six major service platforms dedicated to providing top-notch services to private enterprises.

One of these platforms will focus on a comprehensive review of existing supportive policies aimed at private enterprises. The objective is to make these policies more forward-thinking, targeted, precise, and ultimately more effective, as outlined by Wei.

Two other platforms will concentrate on soliciting input from various sectors of society regarding the development of the private sector. Additionally, they will work towards fostering international exchanges and collaboration for private businesses, thereby enhancing their competitiveness on the global stage, the official explained.

The remaining service platforms will be entrusted with the responsibility of bolstering the monitoring and assessment of private enterprises while also amplifying their visibility through increased publicity efforts, Wei added.

The China Economic Roundtable, launched by Xinhua, serves as a multimedia platform for discussions, with its second episode dedicated to the Chinese private economy.
