China will impose anti-dumping duties on rapeseed imports originating from Canada starting March 1, 2026, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
Under the final ruling of an anti-dumping investigation launched on September 9, 2024, imported Canadian rapeseed will be subject to duties of 5.9 percent for a period of five years.
The Ministry of Commerce stated that the investigation was conducted in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, with extensive consultations held to protect the rights and interests of all parties involved. Officials emphasized that the final decision was reached based on objective analysis and evidence.
A preliminary ruling had already been issued in August 2025, introducing provisional anti-dumping measures before the final decision.
China reiterated its position that trade disputes should be addressed through dialogue and consultation. During the investigation process, Canada raised concerns on several occasions. Chinese authorities said those concerns were taken into account before the final determination was made.
Despite the imposition of anti-dumping duties, China expressed willingness to continue strengthening economic and trade cooperation with Canada and to promote mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.
