A new cross-border tourist train connecting Vladivostok, Russia, with Suifenhe and Mudanjiang in northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province has officially entered trial operation, marking a new milestone in China-Russia tourism and transportation cooperation.
The new railway service is designed to integrate tourism resources along the route, offering travelers a seamless, one-stop travel experience that combines convenient transportation with regional sightseeing opportunities.
The inaugural trial journey welcomed Russian tourists traveling to Suifenhe, while Chinese travelers boarded the train for Vladivostok, highlighting growing cross-border tourism exchanges between the two neighboring countries.
By linking major destinations in Russia’s Far East with northeastern China, the tourist train is expected to make international rail travel more convenient, encourage multi-destination tourism, and strengthen cultural exchanges between the two nations.
The new service is also expected to support local economies by attracting more visitors, creating opportunities for tourism businesses, hotels, restaurants, and related service industries along the railway corridor.
Officials believe the trial operation will provide valuable experience for future regular services and further improve cross-border transportation connectivity between China and Russia.
