Dedienne Aerospace Opens Shanghai Factory for Aviation Maintenance

Dedienne Aerospace, a prominent French firm, has recently inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Shanghai, marking a strategic move to tap into the rapidly expanding aviation maintenance sector in China.

Guillaume Justamon, the Sales and Marketing Director at Dedienne Aerospace, announced during the factory’s opening ceremony on Tuesday that the Shanghai facility is projected to produce an annual output of 100 aeroengine brackets, exclusively for the Chinese market, over the next three years.

Outlined in its long-term strategy, the Shanghai plant is set to become a key global production site for the company, primarily focusing on the Asian market, Justamon emphasized.

Justamon further noted that the aviation maintenance services market in China is expected to witness an impressive 6.9 percent annual growth over the next decade. “We are highly confident about the Shanghai factory’s future development and are planning to establish additional service centers in other major Chinese cities,” he added.

Hu Bo, the General Manager of Dedienne Aerospace China, highlighted the rapid advancement of China’s aerospace sector, which is poised to become the largest globally. The increasing size of the operational fleet is driving up the demand for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services. This trend underscores a significant need for investment in specialized facilities, infrastructure, and skilled workforce, creating substantial opportunities for industry participants, according to Hu.

Established as a leader in aerospace tooling for both civilian and defense sectors, Dedienne Aerospace inaugurated its first Chinese manufacturing unit in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, 15 years ago.
