China International Consumer Products Expo: A Platform for Global Economic Recovery

According to the commerce ministry on Monday, the third China International Consumer Products Expo will serve as a platform for showcasing and trading global high-quality consumer goods, injecting momentum into the world’s economic recovery. Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping revealed at a press conference that the expo, which will take place in Haikou, the capital of the southern tropical province of Hainan from April 10 to 15, is part of the ministry’s efforts to boost consumption this year. With a larger exhibition area, more exhibitors and buyers, the expo is expected to improve consumer confidence, optimize consumption supply, introduce Hainan Free Trade Port’s business environment and cooperation opportunities, advance high-standard opening-up, and share China’s massive market opportunities with the world. At the press conference, an overview of what to expect from this year’s exhibition was presented.

This year’s exhibition is expected to be larger in scale, with the exhibition area reaching 120,000 square meters, a 20 percent increase from last year’s event. The international exhibition section will be spread over 80,000 square meters, and over 3,100 brands from 65 countries and regions will participate in the expo, including 147 brands from Italy, the guest country of honor. More than 300 brands are set to launch over 1,000 new products, and over 100 events, including forums, promotions, and matchmaking sessions, will be held. Additionally, more than 60 reports, including those on consumer insights and consumption trends, will be released.

To make the exhibition more effective, the organizer has released the exhibitor list and collected buyers’ needs in advance. A negotiation area will be available at the exhibition site, and cross-border supply and demand matchmaking meetings, official reception parties, and promotion events on quality products from all over China will take place. The expo has invited over 2,000 foreign buyers from 35 countries and regions, and more than 50,000 buyers and professional visitors are expected to attend the expo. The buyers will come from over ten industries, including large-scale supermarkets, e-commerce, and duty-free. They will have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of products, such as yachts, coffee makers, massage chairs, fruits, and wines, among others.

The China International Consumer Products Expo is poised to be a major global event that will showcase high-quality consumer goods and promote international trade, contributing to the world’s economic recovery.
