According to a senior official in the commerce industry, trade and economic relations between China and Central and Eastern Europe have flourished over the last ten years. At a press conference, Vice Minister of Commerce, Li Fei, stated that the two-way investment between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs) has almost reached $20 billion. Furthermore, Li mentioned that China’s direct investment in CEECs escalated by 148% year on year in the first quarter of 2023. Chinese companies have expressed interest in investing in CEECs, particularly in areas such as auto parts, home appliances, medicine, logistics, energy, and minerals, Li added. Additionally, the third China-CEEC Expo & International Consumer Goods Fair is scheduled to take place from May 16 to 20 in Ningbo, located in the east Chinese province of Zhejiang.
