Chinese motorcycle manufacturers are strengthening their presence in the French market as impressive performances in international racing help boost brand recognition and consumer confidence. Success on the racetrack, combined with competitive products and expanding dealer networks, is helping Chinese brands gain traction in one of Europe’s most established motorcycle markets.
During the French Round of the FIM Supersport World Championship at the Nevers Magny-Cours Circuit, Chinese motorcycle manufacturer ZXMOTO achieved its strongest performance to date. Riders Valentin Debise and Federico Caricasulo, competing for the Evan Bros Racing team, secured a historic one-two finish in Friday’s Superpole qualifying session. Debise went on to claim third place in both races over the weekend, while Caricasulo delivered consistent top-ten finishes.
French rider Valentin Debise said ZXMOTO’s commitment to continuous product development was a major factor in his decision to join the team. After visiting China during the summer break, he said he was impressed by the company’s determination to improve its motorcycles and believes Chinese manufacturers have significant long-term potential in both France and the wider European market.
For ZXMOTO, participation in the World Supersport Championship is part of a broader strategy to expand across Europe. The company believes international racing provides valuable exposure while demonstrating the performance and reliability of its products to overseas customers.
In France, ZXMOTO is working with local importer and distributor DIP. According to the distributor, the company has already received a substantial number of pre-orders before the first motorcycles reach dealerships. Strong results in international competition have attracted attention from both motorcycle dealers and consumers, helping reshape perceptions of Chinese brands.
French motorcycle enthusiasts are also becoming more receptive to Chinese manufacturers. Visitors attending the Magny-Cours event noted that Chinese motorcycles offer an attractive combination of modern features, reliable performance and competitive pricing, making them increasingly appealing alternatives to traditional European and Japanese brands.
Online interest reflects this growing popularity. The 2026 ZXMOTO 820RR recently became the most-viewed motorcycle model on the French motorcycle website Motoplanete, attracting more than 10,000 unique visitors during the latest quarter. Another Chinese model, the CFMOTO 1000 MT-X 2026, ranked second, highlighting the rising visibility of Chinese manufacturers among French consumers.
Other Chinese brands also attracted attention during the race weekend. QJMotor showcased its latest motorcycles at the circuit, with company representatives noting that participation in international motorsport has significantly increased awareness and credibility among European riders.
Market data further illustrates the industry’s momentum. According to French automotive publication L’Automobile Magazine, Chinese manufacturers accounted for 15.7% of all new motorcycle registrations in France in May 2026, representing a 58% year-on-year increase. Approximately one out of every six newly registered motorcycles in France now comes from a Chinese brand.
Industry representatives believe that long-term success will depend on more than racing achievements. Building customer confidence will require continued investment in product quality, technological innovation, dealer networks and reliable after-sales service. As Chinese motorcycle manufacturers continue expanding their presence across Europe, these factors are expected to play an increasingly important role in strengthening their competitiveness in mature international markets.
